Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon2024 Running Instructions

The annual Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon is just around the corner, and we have compiled a FAQ of the arrangements for the 2024 Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, our aim is to ensure that participating runners can enjoy a worry-free experience throughout the race.

1, Runner’s bag collection arrangements:

(1) Time: February 9-11, 2024 (please make a reservation in advance in the conference app to collect the time slot)

2) Venue: Central Lawn, Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

3) Required documents: proof of online booking (confirmation email); QR Code of the runner’s packet collection form; Hong Kong Identity Card or passport (original).

2, Race Day Arrangement

1) Time: Sunday, January 24, 2024

2) Starting point:

  • Starting point for Marathon and Half Marathon is Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.
  • Starting point of the 10km event is Island Eastern Corridor
  • Starting point of the 10km Wheelchair Race and Wheelchair Race Experience Group is Wan Chai Sports Ground

3) Vaccination Arrangement:

There is no need to present the result of PCR test within 48 hours / Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) within 24 hours, and no need to present [Vaccination Pass]; however, all runners are required to wear masks before the starting point and after the completion of the race.

4) Special arrangement for transportation on race day:

  • MTR will provide early morning routes starting from 03:25am on race day. All MTR stations will be opened 10 minutes before the first train departs and will resume normal service after 6am.
  • In addition to the original overnight routes, buses will also provide 28 special routes to the starting points of the Full Horse Race and Half Horse Race (Tsim Sha Tsui) and the 10km starting point (Tin Hau / Causeway Bay) respectively.
  • For the 10km starting point, cabs and private cars are advised to choose Causeway Road (near Tin Hau MTR station); for the marathon and half-marathon starting points, cabs and private cars are advised to choose Hong Kong Cultural Center, Tsim Sha Tsui Ferry Pier and Star House on Canton Road as their drop-off points.

5) Arrangement of Victoria Park Public Cheering Area

This year, Standard Chartered Marathon 2024 will reinstate the public cheering zone, which will be set up near the finish point of Victoria Park, and all members of the public are welcome to enter the Standard Chartered Marathon 2024 free of charge.

6) Luggage Storage Arrangement

There will be no baggage storage on the race day of the Standard Chartered Marathon 2024. Runners who require baggage check-in must do so during the packet pick-up period (February 9th to 11th).
